As a Policy Officer for Southampton City Council I work in the Housing Solutions Division. This part of the Council helps all sorts of people with housing:-
- People who apply to rent a council or housing association home
- People who don’t have a home
- People needing advice on housing problems, options, or choices
and also
- Works with housing associations to provide more homes for people in the City.
- Improves housing conditions for people who rent from private landlords, and vulnerable people who own their home.
I help develop and review housing policies, provide advice on housing policy issues, do project work on a range of housing issues, and advise on some of the more complicated casework.
